When I married my husband, I learned a lot about a lot of new things. One of those things being LEGO brand things. His family loves all things LEGO bricks-Jay’s mom even wears a LEGO watch on her wrist daily (she is a preschool teacher but that has nothing to do with it) Jay is counting down the minutes until our babies stop putting everything in their mouths so that he can bring home his legendary LEGO brick collection from his parents house.

His love of all things LEGO is what made Brickworld catch my attention last year. Brickworld Indy is a dream for builders of all ages! Walk around 30,000 square feet of LEGO brick creation displays, vendors and interactive activities!

You’ll see some pretty fantastic replicas of places and things you are familiar with, displays with electricity and my favorite part is that so many of these displays are original creations! I have a hard time putting together a kit when it comes with very detailed instructions, many of these artists have figured out some pretty cool things on their own…without instructions!

My favorite part of Brickworld is that there are interactive areas for the kids (don’t worry parents and grandparents, YOU get to be a kid too!) where they can play with DUPLO blocks, operate remote control fighting robots, put together a portion of a large mosaic and look for the seek and finds in certain displays.

Brickworld Indy will be held on March 9 and 10, 2013 at the State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis,
Indiana. Hours are 10 AM – 6 PM on Saturday and 10 AM – 5 PM on Sunday. Admission is $9
for adults, $6 for kids 10 and under, under 3 are free. Active duty and reserve service members and first responders can purchase a discounted $6 adult ticket (military / first responder identification required).
