Want to check out something different this weekend? Have you heard of the Steel Pan Music Festival? Last year, the husband took Lulu to this showcase of Indiana talent and to see what it was all about. Lulu was 1 year old and slept through the whole thing. Jay was so shocked that she was able to sleep because of the volume behind the passionate performances!
The 2012 Steel Pan Music Festival will be held at the Center for Inquiry – IPS School #84 (440 E. 57th Street, Indianapolis) from noon until 6pm on Saturday, April 21st. This year’s showcase performances will include Steel Panache, Praise Pandemic, Indiana University, Maple Creek Middle School, and Kekionga Middle School.
The festival is free for everyone! There will be concessions available for purchase and all proceeds will go to support the school in buying pans to start a program of their own! Check out the Indiana Steel Pan Association for more information.
