On Saturday, April 28th take your family to the southside for the Greenwood Arts Alive festival, a celebration of art of all sorts in Greenwood! There are several locations that Arts Alive takes place but we have inside suggestions just for you about the best places to be!
At the Community Center there are 15 minute performances from local dance studios and even a stage combat demonstration beginning at noon. There are cartooning classes (5+) and drawing workshops (8+) as well as sculpture walks. If you visit the sculptures and one other Arts Alive location, your families will receive a coupon packet.
The Greenwood Library is offering all kinds of workshops and artsy activities all day for all ages from Preschool and up. If you have kids younger than preschool in addition older children, there’s a wonderful playground for young children right outside the library doors.
The Southside Art League has an open gallery all day and you can see the installation and unveiling of new public art at Art on the Trail. There will also be live music at Art on the Trail. The Trailway winds through Craig Park and up along Smith Valley Road all the way to Main Street. The artwork will be in between Hacienda Place and Monte Vista.
Organizers say, “The key is to put on your walking shoes, bring some snacks, and be prepared to have an arttastic day!”
